Current Operations

The Phoenix House, Inc. is currently located at 700 35th Ave. Tuscaloosa, Al 35401. Our facility houses (14) females and (23) males. The Phoenix House provides both certified Level III.01 Transitional Residential Treatment Program and Level III.1 Clinically Managed Low Intensity Residential Treatment levels of care to our clients. 

 We have a diverse Board of Directors who are committed to the mission of the program.  They govern the Phoenix House and serve without compensation The Executive Director supervises the Phoenix House staff and clients. We also have qualified counselors, case managers, support staff and Certified Recovery Specialist along with numerous volunteers that make significant contributions.
Our primary funding base is by contract with the Alabama Department of Mental Health.  Additional funding comes from Tuscaloosa United Way, community support, and nominal boarding fees paid by our residents.

Partners in Recovery working partner of Phoenix House has 7  Recovery Residence houses.  This Supportive Houseing has been in operation for 15 years.  Phoenix House, Partners in Recovery and partnership with First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa and numerous volunteers.  Each house has 3 tenants who are in recovery.  These houses run on a community premis with the peers in-charge.  The outcomes for this housing is reduced drug and alcohol use, stable employment, accountability, building support system, stable housing.  The Recovery Residence are certified by Alabama Network of Recovery Services a Chapter of NARR (National Alliance of Recovery Residence).
